We are a group of friends whose purpose is to love God and to be free and complete persons
through Jesus Christ. To create a loving, encouraging fellowship; and to share and support ideas of
mission by being active in the local and global ministries of the church.

Our local projects so far this year, include: preparing and serving lunch to the families
and staff at the Grace Home in Shreveport on the last Thursday of each month; quilting lap quilts
for the residents of the Veterans Home in Bossier; helping the UMM raise money for the building
fund for our proposed new church home; baking for and working at the Hill Fest music
celebration in May.
All women of the church are members and we presently have approximately 20
active members. Please come and join us on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m.
We have snacks and a social time prior to the meetings.

Purpose
United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to
grow spiritually and to seek daily his will. Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the
lives of men and in all their relationships.
Men seeking membership in a local United Methodist Men's Fellowship shall subscribe to the "Purpose"
of United Methodist Men and to these personal objectives:
• Engage daily in Bible study and prayer.
• Bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts
through words and action.
• Engage in some definite Christian Service.
Currently at Love Chapel we have the following activities going on:
• We meet Sunday mornings at 7:30 for a devotional and prayer time.
• On the last Sunday of the month we have a devotional, breakfast
and business meeting.

The nurture committee's goals are to care for members of the church by
helping through crises such as sickness, hospitalization, death, etc. and caring for our
homebound members by sending cards, bulletins, and visiting them periodically. We
call members on their birthday's and send out honorariums for monies received. Baskets
are filled and delivered to our homebound 4 or 5 times during the year.

The Prayer Ministry recognizes that there are many types of prayer. One that we frequently
use is the Prayer Chain. Our Prayer Chain provides an opportunity for intercessory prayer.
Concerns need only be called in to the church and the Prayer Chain is activated. As with
most churches who are struggling with important decisions, we pray for discernment, that
we will know and do God's will, that we will be receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
When we "take it to the Lord in prayer" we open ourselves up to boundless opportunities
for service to others and to our Lord.

The Love Chapel Methodist Music Department serves as one body unified in worship and
with a heart of purity. Our main purpose remains to glorify and humbly honor God in a spirit of
excellence as ministers of music, hope, and love, while leading others into divine presence
through thanksgiving, praise, and worship. We are called to inspire, encourage, train, and
direct those whom God has called into the music ministry through service, excellence,
sensitivity, purity, humility, and strength.
